Wave lets your customer decide to pay less. Munshy lets you set the schedule — 50% deposit now, 50% on delivery, each with its own due date, on a single invoice.
Free invoicing and accounting. The same processing rates Wave charges. Your Wave data imports in minutes.
What the whole job is worth.
No card required. Your customer sees one invoice with every part listed.
Wave's invoices do allow a partial payment — but only because the customer can edit the amount when they open the payment link. The decision sits with them, not you.
Based on Wave's published help documentation as of September 2026. Wave is a trademark of its owner and is not affiliated with Munshy. If this has changed, tell us and we will correct it.
If you take money before you finish the work, you have run into this.
Retainer at booking, balance on gallery delivery. The date is set months out.
Deposit for materials, progress payment, final on completion.
Non-refundable deposit to hold the date, balance the week before.
Half on signature, half on delivery. The standard for project work.
Payment against milestones, because you buy materials before you get paid.
A customer who baulks at $12,000 will happily pay $4,000 three times.
The reason most people stay on a tool they have outgrown is the history. You do not have to leave it behind.
Imported invoices are historical records. No emails, no reminders, no chasing anyone for money they paid two years ago.
Re-importing the same file updates records instead of duplicating them.
Changed your mind? Roll an import back. Anything that has since been paid is left alone.

Not as a schedule you control. Wave allows a customer to edit the amount they pay when they open the invoice link, so a partial payment happens at their discretion. There is no way to define a deposit and a balance, each with its own amount and due date, on one invoice.
Up to 24. Most people use two or three.
No. One invoice, one link, with the schedule shown on it. They pay each part as it comes due. The PDF has a payment button for each part that is currently payable.
Reminders go out on a schedule you set — by default three days before it is due, on the day, then at seven and fourteen days overdue. They stop the moment it is paid.
No. Create a free account and send one split invoice. Import your history only when you are ready.
Free forever. You only pay when a customer pays you.
